Q: I need some info about greeting cards that can be planted (and grow into flowers). Can anyone help?
I'm talking about greeting cards made from organic paper with flower seeds embedded in it, so that instead of throwing them away, you can bury them and watch them grow into flowers. I've checked out websites, but I need some more info from common people. I would appreciate any answers. Here are the Qs: - Have you (or Would you) buy it? - If you have (or would), what is/was it for? Personal needs (for family or friends) or company needs? - And for what occasions? Like wedding greetings, Birthday, Valentine's Day, Christmas, or can it be used as wedding thank you gifts for the guests? - Would these cards be more suitable for kids, teens, adults, or perhaps older people? - Do you think using plantable cards classify as "green" (eco-friendly) attitude? - Any other info you'd like to add? Thank you so much! This is very urgent.

A: Check with local gardening centers/nurseries to see how it will sell. Or email the offices of gardening catalog companies. The best place to sell from would be gardening catatogs. Here are a few to contact: http://www.waysidegardens.com http://www.dutchbulbs.com http://www.jacksonandperkins.com (Roses) http://www.parkseed.com http://www.burpee.com Other catalogs: http://www.leevalley.com http://www.gardeners.com There are many many more, this is just a few.

Q: Postcards vs Greeting Cards?
Does anyone know where I can buy greetings postcards as opposed to cards? Sending postcards for birthdays, Christmas, congrats etc... would eliminate an envelope and 50% of the card compared to a traditional 1 fold card. If anyone can help I'll be really grateful. Thanks :-)

Q: where would i get an e card to announce a pregnancy at christmas?
we need to find a website that will give christmas greeting and announce the pregnancy too !

A: Use CropMom at http://www.cropmom.com to create a Christmas card and pregnancy greeting. You can register, then upload a photo of yourself, if you wish. Then click Get Started to begin creating. Consider using a 5" by 7" canvas size for a card, but it's not totally necessary. Now, drag and drop your photo onto the card, if you use a photo. Drag and drop the graphics of your choice onto the card. The graphics are divided according to Kit, or theme, and according to Category, such as trim, background papers, novelties, etc. Select a photo or graphic to rotate it or resize it. If it's selected, you can change it's "layer" by click move forward or move backward multiple times until it goes to the layer of your choice. Click Add Text to add your own words. When you're finished, save your layout. Go to My CropMom, and click on the layout. Now you can share your layout by email with your friends. Or you can download the low-resolution, or screen-quality JPEG file that you can post on the Web or e-mail. Those are free. For a small fee, you can purchaes the print-quality, high resolution JPEG file. Now print it at home or have it printed by an online photofinisher such as Snapfish or Shutterfly.

Q: Christmas cards / gifts OK for my "friend"?
I dated this girl once...about a month ago. She goes to school with me...but we're in higher education here, this isn't some lame High School thing. Anyway...We dated for like A WEEK. It was almost nothing. But I was really into her...I was basically in love or something (as stupid as that sounds). Anyway...I think I got pushy and scared her off. She broke things off but wanted to remain friends. A month has passed, and we still talk and whatever...although it's not like it was before. But sometimes I get the feeling that she misses me. Sometimes she'll respond to my messages or greet me with enthusiam - but other times, not so much. I guess she's moody. Whatever. Anyway...I was thinking of sending her a Christmas card with some candy. The school is selling them for like $2 to raise money, I thought it might be nice. And hell, I still kind of have a thing for her...and a few other girls too, at the same time (weird, right?). Anyway...you think it's OK to send one out to her?

A: Certainly. If you would do it for a friend, certainly you can do it for a girl-you-once-dated-who-says-she-wants-to-be-friends-but-you're-still-into-her. Just realize that candy-grams are sort of sappy and can be kind of cheesy, so make sure she understands your humor. Also, don't think of it as a Christmas gift. That would be really cheaping out. Think of it as a creative way to say hello.

Q: how can i physically make a musical greeting card?
i would like to make a greeting card-not on the computer-but real physical one-like the christmas cards that we all know-when you open them they start playing music.I know that there is something like a watch battery attached to them and i would like to make something like that?BUT HOW? and i actually would like to record something else,so i can't use already existing cards:( as i said i just would like to record something else-not a christmas song/music or anything like that.it is something very specific so i know that i can't find it anywhere.

A: If you go to a craft store like Michaels you will find musical buttons. They are small, usually a round disc shape and come with the battery already. You press them to start the music. They were originally made to put inside of plush toys, or a Christmas stocking pocket, etc., but I don't see why you couldn't use them in a card also. They would play only when you apply pressure to them though, not when you flip the card open.

Q: For people who don't celebrate Christmas.?
How does it feel to celebrate Kwanzaa or Chanukah and whatever you may celebrate when most of the world is Catholic and celebrates Christmas. On the radio, you will hear mostly Christmas songs and no other holiday songs. Or on greeting cards, there will be a lot of Merry Christmas cards, but possibly no Happy Chanukah or Happy Kwanzaa. Okay I got my facts wrong. 33% of the world is Christain Not all Christians celebarte Christmas And not all people who aren't Christians don't celebrate Christmas. Happy now! :)

Q: Do you think it's weird or rude to not send a Christmas card to someone who sent you one?
I sent some greeting cards out to friends, and most people I sent them to never sent me back one. I didn't send them out to receive them back - but I just think it's a bit strange and rude. Lil'MissS - I don't do it to receive back, I'm not that pathetic, and have a full family life, but I was just wondering about the psychology of these people, that is all.

A: Please do not be so negative; you gave the greeting cards out of your heart not so the other person can repay you.

Q: Would you send a Christmas card if someone in your family died?
My parents-inlaw and grandmother in-law died this year. As many people sent us sympathy card at that time.We talked we gonna send them Christmas card to express thank you for sympathy card. However recently my husband changed his mind. He said "I'm not gonna send a christmas card.it must be horrible feeling when they received. I don't want them to feel bad at christmas time" so I'm confused. In my country(I'm Japanese)usually we send greeting card to apologize for not sending new year card because of mourning in advance. But I don't know about the custom in UK. Do you think it's strange if we send them a christmas card ? or we don't need to send because our family died. fyi:parents in-law died in April and grand mother in-law died in Augst.

A: First of all it is very kind of you to take into consideration what your husband has suggested, It depends how long has it been since ur parents in law and ur grandmother passed away. If it's been a little over several months, no harm in sending greeting cards around... it's a way of sharing warmth and gratitutde. But those deaths occured much recently, then i suggest your husband is right, it seems kind of odd when someone has passed away recently and one goes around expressing their gratitutde by sending a "greeting seasons card". Instead u can find other ways to humbly thank them for being there for u at the time of your loss. Goodluck Regards DarkTranquility
