A: The High School musical game for Wii might sound childish but it's so fun! Trust me. Boogie is also really fun. Victoria Secret PINK line geared towards 15 to 22 (I would say) has the cutest bedding and great tote bags and lotion sets. Internet Tablet- it's about $250.00 but I bet she would love it. A gift certificate to Buckle so she can get some Lucky Jeans. Those are hot here right now. A treadmill (not that she's fat!)- even fit girls like to burn off energy- this gift goes good with an ipod nano Stocking stuffers- dance instructional DVD's Mac lipstick and mascera A Dooney & Bourke Handbag- it's designer but still reasonably priced for a teen Books - pick 5 to 10 books - wrap them individually and stack them and tie with a ribbon

A: Well goodie bags can be nice. I like to buy a pack of either small lotions or small sprays at Victoria's Secret of Bath and Body works. Then I split them up and give one to everyone, its cheaper that way. I also like to buy them each something different as well, maybe a change purse, bracelets, or a necklace. I have also done things like lipgloss, nailpolishes, or buying a pack of bangles and splitting them up. I usually go to Forever 21, Charlotte Russe, H & M, Delia's, American Eagle, or Icing. Putting some candy in like hershey kisses is a nice touch.

So if you receive the gifts before Christmas, what do you do? Do you open them right away? Put them under the tree? Ask the sender? Or what?

A: I would wait until Christmas day since it is a gift sent for Christmas. Certainly phone or email the sender and say you received a gift from them in the mail and you can't wait until Christmas day to open it. That way they know you received it and also don't wonder why you haven't said thank you yet for the gift.

A: When I was 12, I carefully opened my wrapped presents under the tree before Christmas and took a peek. On Christmas day when I opened them officially, I was disappointed-sad. It is the suspense of waiting that makes it better. I vowed I wouldn't do it again and I haven't.

It is a family where there are two little children and the 17 year old girl, and they are being raised by their grandma. She is an african american and that is about all I know. i realize it's the thought that counts, that not everyone celebrates christmas, commercialism of the holidays has taken over the world, it depends on how many children one has, how much money one has available, etc... but for this particular question, let's say you have one child, they're not spoiled, they're pretty well-behaved and you're married, middle income parents who do believe in buying holiday gifts...how much would you say is an average amount to spend on your teenager this christmas?

A: I'd say about 300. Thats about one expensive gift, like nice shoes or snowboard jacket, or a few new video games, a digital camera, ipod, etc....(dont know if its a guy or girl teen) Then a couple pieces of clothes or accessories, a book or journal or scrapbook, etc, and a stocking full of candies, a cute keychain, upgraded memory card for their digital camera, and a package of new socks.....if you shop sales and are creative, you can do really well with $300. And since its only one child, I dont think $300 is too much. But of course, its whatever you have the budget for. Dont go into debt for Christmas. Good luck to yoU!

With the economy in such a bad place, did you have a favorite present? It does not have to be materialistic. The best gift I got this year was the week of Christmas off to spend with my husband and children; for the first time in twelve years! Name yours:-)

A: I received loads of pressies I liked but the best one was probably the cheapest! A book of funny poems and rude cartoons called Muffs Chuffs and Nonsense which was very rude and got passed round the whole family when the kids had gone to bed and even made my aunt laugh! Proves you don't have to spend a lot. Next best present was a lovely top which I'd coveted for a while (hubby had obviously listened) Third best present was there was no family rows! All in all a great XMas.

My husband has received several gifts and is now in a position where he feels obligated to reciprocate. I had already told my workmates not to get me gifts because I don't do Christmas gifts. A: This is tough. I feel in the same boat. I don't really like to do Christmas presents. It really has become quite ridiculous. It is hard to find a decent gift for 20 bucks. I don't think we are supposed to go in debt at Christmas. It just doesn't make any sense. If your husband feels he has to reciprocate(just remember, if he does, they will be expecting gifts again next year, if you don't give gifts, next year they might get the hint)you could always do something different. Google "World Vision". Take 100-200 bucks(it will save you in the end, cards and wrapping paper and what not)and buy a village some goats, chickens and pigs. You could send out a Christmas card saying that on behalf of your family and friends you have halped a village this Christmas. It seems a lot better than spending 500$ on gifts and then you know your gift really did help people. If that isn't your cup of tea. Bake or make homemade chocolates. You would have to buy Christmas containers, and then give homemade goodies away. You definately know that they will get eaten. I might make perogies this year, and buy a cow and chicken. The way that Christmas is so commercial, it really has lost some of it's meaning. If we did gifts like this, we might be able to help the true meaning of Christmas survive.

I'm going to London this christmas to visit my family , I need to know what the average is to spend on a gift . We rarely get extravagant things . Like small knick knacks or cool stationery ,a nice scarf . That sort of thing . How much money should I spend per person ? A: I think small gifts that are well thought out and meaningful would be appropriate- I'd say around 20 bucks a person- remember it is the gesture that counts not the money you spent. I'd rather have a 10 dollar gift that I know someone picked just for me than a generic 100 dollar one!
