A: Depends on the relationship to the woman your giving it to. I wouldn't give one to a co-worker. I wouldn't mind one but I think it would be better as a stocking stuffer.

Q: Can you help me with a Christmas gift idea?
I've been dating this wonderful girl for 5 years, and neither of us have a lot of money. Can anyone think of a great gift to give her? I'm strapped for ideas. I've already given her a ring, earings, a necklace, and a bracelet over the course of our relationship, so I think those are out of the picture.

A: if you are creative at all perhaps you could make her a scrapbook of things that you have done together (include pictures, movie stubs, concert tickets, plays that you have seen together, poems that you wrote for her, things that mean a lot to the both of you). Most girls would really appreciate the work and thought of a gift like that. If she is not that kind of girl, maybe an i pod or teddy bear with a gift certificate for a day at the spa, or to get her nails done.

Parents are the worst to shop for... If they need it they already bought it. My wife detests buying gift cards. Gift cards are not allowed.

my 14 year old neice has recently become vegetarian. she and her parents have gone to a dietician to learn how to eat properly and whatnot. my family is either still learning how to accommodate her lifestyle or think that she's nuts. my husband and i would love to get her something for christmas that shows our support. she's young and is just learning to cook her own meals so i wasn't sure if a cookbook was the right way to go. any help is appreciated!

Here are a few things that you could package in decorative jars. Make sure you label the ingredients and an explanation of what it is and what it is used for.

A: i'm not particularly enthused with giving money, which is essentially what you're doing.
a better idea might be to see if you could get a group rate on a house you could all stay in.
and you could contribute a larger share.
i do like the idea of going as a family.

A: They really can't take anything to basic with them except a couple of changes of clothes, and their toiletries. I would wait until they get to Tech School, and then you can send them something. BUT, I would either get them a lap top, or a desk top computer.

A: Seven year old girls tend to be hugely into High School Musical and Bratz, so anything related to them would be good. A DVD of HSM with audio description for the blind would be good if you could get one - it usually comes as standard. The soundtrack is also popular. She might appreciate getting a 'normal' present.
