Q: Green christmas lights?
What:
I want to line the ceiling of my living room and atrium with green Christmas lights, Green seemed to be the best choice because red is too ominous and blue is harsh on the eyes. I will reconsider blue if you convince me to get incandescent.
Why: My atrium has a light in the ceiling that I am going to put the adapter into for the string of lights that will wrap around into both rooms. The problem I am trying to overcome is that the light switch for the living room lights is far away from the entrance. I want to be able to turn on the light switch in the atrium and have the lights on in both rooms. I don't need the rooms exceptionally bright, the rooms are mostly used for eating, watching t.v. and using my computer.
Please adress: incandescent or LED (harsh LED lighting over its own efficiency), colors (color can change how you feel), how to string them mounting (i was thinking adhesive putty) and spacing.
A: I am only going to address the problem with no light switch near the entrance. They now make a remote switch that you attach to the wall near the door and it turn on the lights that are hooked at one plug. Check at your local hardware store.
Q: How do people that are 'green' feel about christmas lights?
I mean... throughout the year, I hear enough people tell me to turn off unnecessary items and use florescent lights. So how do the people telling me this feel about lit up houses at Christmas?
A: They prefer Candles and only lit while supervised.
Get back to them after you burn your house down ( it has happened).
Added: grizzbr1 some people have Potted Christmas Trees and some people have Outdoor Christmas Trees. That way they can keep the same Tree for Christmas forever or until they move. Jesus Christ was born Late March to Mid April (The whole world saw an Event that is assosiated with his Birth then and there is other evidence in writeing in paper, stone, and metal). The time of the Year [where Christmas is located] was a holiday in Rome,.. surrounding the day there is the least ammount of Sun Light [which is Christmas Day now]. The man Santa Claus is Based on gave out Gifts at this time because he was well off and sick of watching Children Die that needed a little food, shoes, or heat,.. so he gave out mostly Coal so people could stay warm and eat. But the time he did this Christianity was against because of the Religions they tell everyone lead you to Satan [the man was inprisoned and looks like killed for this]. It is now the point of Celabration because Christmas Day is not only the Darkest day of the year but has the Highest Suicides of any day of the year. So think of Christmas as a way to fight Depression,.. it has nothing to do with Christ... pray however will help you get through the dark days.

Q: Christmas lights not fully working, help!!!?
I have just put up some flashing Christmas lights and have found that 11 bulbs (10 orange and 1 green bulb) don't work. I know that there should be a fuse bulb, but none of them have a white tip as you'd usually expect to find. How could I identify the fuse bulb?
All the bulbs that don't work are on the last section of the circuit, and are spaced so that every 4th bulb from the second bulb from the end of the circuit doesn't work. The first half of the circuit is fine.
A: It depends on the way the light circuit is wired. Look to see if all the bulbs that aren't working get the power from 1 bulb up close to the plug in the system. Electrical is like water, it has to start somewhere(the plug),flow thru something(the wires) and end up doing something at the end(the bulb). I would take a known good bulb, and simply start replacing one bulb at a time till the circuit lights up, but dont fiorget the lights at the front of the string, I would guess it is the flasher bulb that is open, but it could be any of the ones that aren't lit..... Good luck and Happy Holidays
Q: Did you hear that a town in Colorado is considering banning red and green lights on city property for ...?
the Holidays? Apparently red and green lights stand for Christmas and exclude other holidays. Does anyone think this is ridiculous especially since Christmas is a national Holiday? Did you know 90% of Americans say they celebrate Christmas? Does that mean the USA is now 90% Christian or is it possible that non-Christians are also enjoying this Holiday?
Also, do you think the city should remove the traffic lights, since they have red and green?
Have a great night!
I do believe it was Fort Collins and I heard it on television this morning. It could have been CNN or FOX as I was switching channels.
Pangloss - Did I ever say or even suggest that this had anything to do with private property? I clearly said city. Please read again carefully.
A: I'm not Christian at all and I celebrate Christmas. A lot of my friends are non-Christian and they all celebrate the holiday.
That's stupid to ban any items from any holiday. If someone is so offended by a holiday that's not their's, they need to get over it and stop acting so childish.
Only people that are babies want to ban holiday decorations.
EDIT: Also, HAHAHA guess what? Most street lights, which are predominantly red and green, are on city property! LOL
Q: What kind of Christmas lights do you have on your Christmas tree?
Just wondering because I have these programmable red, green and white lights, that I've had for ten years and when I went to put them on this year they were not lighting right. I went out to get some replacements and not one store sold red, white and green lights programmable lights. You know the kind that you can vary the speed of the flashing? I went home and spent about two hours going through mine bulb, by bulb to get them to work again..
Exacty Liz that's why you need programmable lights because you can slow down the flash. I think it does get annoying too if they are flashing like crazy. Mine are so pretty they don't completely turn off they just dim them light bright again.
J -thanks Walmart is the one place I didn't go. I hate Walmart and I might rather go with out then go there.
A: They do sell lights that say on the box that they will work even if one of some of them are out. You gotta look on the box. I have white lights and they have lots of different modes, I can make them blink fast slow stay still, I think theres like 5 or 6 different modes, that I bought at Wal-Mart for like 10 dollars. Which is worth it when you dont have to sit there and try and figure out which bulbs not working. Good luck
Have you tried Kmart? Walgreens? I know everyone doesn't like Walmart, I wouldnt shop there if I didnt have to...lol. hmmmm..... what about a hardware store? I know a lot of them at least around here sell them now.
