Q: Clear Glass Christmas Ornament Bulbs?
I need about 30 clear GLASS ornament bulbs for a sculpture, preferably over 3 inches in diameter. Im looking to spend under $50. If anyone knows where i can buy these (store or online) in bulk that would be great. i didnt think it would be this hard to find these! thanks!

A: I don't know if you have a Pat Catan's craft store where you live, but I know they carry the ornaments you described. I think the company Darice manufactures them, so you might be able to find them online. Other craft stores like Michaels may have those ornaments too. If not try looking on ebay or craigs list.

Q: Where to get child's art made into reverse painted Christmas ornaments?
I found 3 christmas ornaments made in reverse painting style at a thrift store. At first I thought they were made by adults to look like a child's art, but after careful examination I realized that wasn't the case. It appears that someone took their child's artwork and sent it in to be made into an ornament, somewhere. The ornaments are round balls of really thick glass with the paint on the inside...Is there a specialty store that these could have been made at? Somewhere online maybe? Does anyone know? I know JC Penney sells reverse painted ornaments, but do they do custom work?

A: I don't know about the specific type of ornament you are talking about, but here is the website of one company that makes children's art work into a variety of things from magnets to mugs! http://www.square1art.com/ Good luck on your search!

Q: 3000GT christmas ornament?
I am looking for a glass 3000GT Christmas tree ornament for my husband, does anyone know where I could find one?

A: I haven't seen any about recently?....its probably easier to find rocking horse sh*t !......have you thought of going to a traditional british seaside town and getting the glass ornament makers to make you one?.....dont forget to take a photo with you.........best of luck

Q: What is a good paint to use on glass?
I'm trying to paint the inside of clear Christmas balls, but acrylic paint ends up separating from the glass when it dries. Glass paint is too thick, and I need a thinner paint so I can shake it up and swirl it in the glass ornament. Any ideas?

A: I'd stick with the glass paint, adding the tiniest amount of thinner to it so you can swirl it. Good luck.

Q: Are glass wares allowed as carry on when boarding a plane?
I am traveling tomorrow morning. I have a trifle glass that I would like to bring as a carry on. It's properly secured in its own packaging box. I also have some crystal Christmas ornaments. Would they be allowed as carry on? I checked the TSA rules and regulations and glass wares are not on the list.

A: Yes ... currently there is no prohibition on glass. I just brough glass shelves from a china cabinet home on the plane. No questions asked. Imagine!

Q: Any ideas of how I can decorate a clear glass ornament for a contest?
It is for a Christmas contest, but I can decorate it any way I choose. How do you get glue to stick to glass?

A: Have you ever seen those colored glass "pebbles" sold in the craft section at WalMart? Buy a bag of multicolored pebbles, and hot glue them to the ornament. Then, buy a bottle of glitter glue, and fill in between the pebbles. Go light with the glue, or it will just run off. It ends up looking like a planet from outer space.

Q: What is the magnification of its image?
An object is 23.3 cm from the center of a silvered spherical glass Christmas tree ornament 6.50 cm in diameter. The position of the image if -1.5 cm What is the magnification of its image?

A: If the object is 23.3 cm to the center of the bulb...then that distance minus the radius of the bulb will yield the distance to the bulb dia=6.50 cm therefore r = 3.25 cm object distance (p) = 23.3 cm - 3.25 cm= 20.1 cm (sig figs) image distance (q) = -1.5 cm M = -q/p = -(-1.5cm)/(20.1cm) = .0746

Q: Who else is excited about Christmas?
Besides me who else out there is excited about Christmas? I can't wait until the day after Thanksgiving to put up my Christmas tree & decorations!!!! But I do have a real question - last year my puppy kept getting into my Christmas tree taking the lights and ornaments off the tree & playing with the glass ornaments like they were balls. He is not a puppy anymore he just turned one. Any advice on keeping him out of my tree? Or should I just not put any lights or decorations on the bottom of the tree?

A: MEEEE!!!!!!! My dog used to chew on the tree but we sprayed some of that bitter apple dog spray on it and she stayed away from it. It doesn't smell either. They have it at pet stores. Good Luck and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

Q: How do you get the replacement little lightbulb inside a ceramic spinning musical Christmas Tree Table Ornamen?
(It was obviously designed for a light source on the hollow inside to cause the little colorful miniature glass ornaments to "light up" on the outside, but I can't find a way to get inside the darn thing. It only has a battery replacement panel on the underside, there are no screws to unscrew, and I wonder if anybody knows a secret way to separate the spinning tree from it's base to replace the lightbulb inside?

A: Are there screws inside the battery compartment. It may only be one, possibly hidden under a label. One screw maybe all it takes for the whole assembly to unclip or twist apart. The newer they are the harder. If an LED is the light source even harder, to replace. Even after taking a hammer to some of these things I can't figure how they could be opened. Bash a hole in it & stick it on a lamp.

Here goes an easy 300..lol...but it's my kids dog so he's worth it..lol

Q: German christmas ornaments has a story behind each design, such as the bird, pinecone, "etc" .?
Painted bright colors, may be hand blown glass. Would like to know the meanings. I have seen sets in the past. Thanks

A: Is this any good? The pickle ornament was considered a very special tree decoration by many families in Germany. There the fir tree was traditionally decorated on Christmas Eve. For good luck, the pickle always was the last ornament to be hung on the tree with mother and father hiding it in the green boughs among the other ornaments. When the children were allowed to view the splendor of the decorated tree on Christmas morning they would gleefully begin searching for the pickle ornament. They knew that whoever found that special ornament first, would receive an extra little gift left by St. Nicholas for the most eager child....

Q: How to make a christmas ornament?
Alright, so when I was little, I remember going to my church and making christmas ornaments. It was a really neat and simple process and looked surprisingly good for a 5 year old making it. I remember we took clear glass/plastic ornaments and took off the hook part at the top and poured glue in through the hole. Then we shook it up really well so the glue covered all of the inside and poured some glitter in. when it had dried, it looked really cool. Do you have any tips/hints or suggestions that would make this more grown-up looking? Thanks in advance!!!!

A: There are some kind of paints that you can put inside then shake or turn them and let dry. They are very pretty. Then tie it with a pretty bow around the hook. Try the craft websites

Q: Do you have a favorite Christmas ornament? If so, then may I ask that you read my story in the box below?
I have a teardrop shaped ornament that was made by my now deceased father back in the the late 1940's while he worked in the neon tube bending business. It is made of very thin glass, is quite delicate and is traditionally hung on the tree each year by yours truly. After Christmas is over, it'll be wrapped in bubblewrap to protect until next year. There used to be a half dozen of these in the family in three different colors ( red, yellow and blue ), but the rest have either been lost or broken. I have the only remaining ornament and it is one of the red ones. I consider it to be an heirloom and it is obviously a real treasure. Wish I could show you a picture!

A: thats great - wish i could see it... you really should treasure that...and also be proud that of everyone you have saved a piece of christmas that otherwise would have been lost forever...congrats to you...and merry christmas....
