Q: How to make or first Christmas special, ornaments? Help!?
My fiance and I have been in our new house for almost two months now, and friday morning we are driving home to Michigan to see our families for Christmas, but I still want us to have a Christmas here in our new house, instead of not doing anything. It's our first Christmas here and I want to have special memories about it even if it's not on Christmas day. So, I got the idea to maybe make some kind of "wish" ornaments, where we could each write our wishes for the Christmases to come in our new house. What do you think of this, and can anyone tell me how I could do it? Like, what supplies I should buy etc. It's the only thing I could think of so any other advice would be great! Thank you!

A: that's a wonderful idea! you could make them out of almost anything. if you pick up clear glass ornaments, you could write on them with marker (make sure it works on glass). you might even find gold markers to do the trick. or they could be solid colored ones. you could also take some special pictures of yours and make frames and hang them on trees, with your wishes on the back. we did that each year for my son. sometimes the ornaments were made out of paper, felt, wood, frames. if you want to get really creative, get some parchment, make mini "scrolls", wrap them around tiny pcs of dowels (hardware store), put some ribbon on, and write your wishes on them. there are so many ideas. but if you want to make it a bit easier, start with something already made, and add your note to it? if you got more time, start from scratch. awesome idea. happy holidays

A: before my daughter was born, i purchased two little ornaments, then when my daughter was born,,,,, 19 years ago, i bought just enough ornaments just to cover a small tree,,,, then each year i purchased one, maybe two more items,,, and also included the things she made at school,,,,, a few of that group i bought the first year have gotten broken,, but everything else has survived,,, so as the ornaments grew, so has our christmas trees,,,,, i wrap each breakable ornament in paper towels each year,,, our overall tree looks very old fashioned and homey, and we love it! its such fun each year to unwrap each item,

Tools and Materials Balloon Ball of cotton string Craft glue Clothespin Dowel Glitter Pin Tweezers Metallic thread Spray mount Evergreen branch Snowy Balloon Ornaments How-To 1. Blow up the balloon until it's slightly smaller than your fist. Tie the end of the cotton string to the end of the balloon. 2. Thin the glue slightly with water and brush some on the bottom of the balloon to tack down the string. Begin wrapping the string vertically around the balloon. When 3/4 of the balloon is covered vertically, begin wrapping the string horizontally. To change direction, wrap the string around the tied-off end of the balloon. Continue until 3/4 of the balloon is wrapped horizontally. 3. Cut the string and secure it with a dab of glue. Brush the watered-down craft glue all over the string-covered balloon. Pinch the top of the balloon with a clothespin and thread the clothespin onto a dowel that you've suspended between two points. Allow to dry for several hours. 4. Once dry, pop the balloon with a pin and remove it, using tweezers, if necessary. Add a loop of metallic thread and brush the balloon with glue again. Working over a bowl, spoon on glitter and set aside to dry. 5. Spray the branch with spray mount and spoon on glitter. Allow to dry. Affix the ornament to the branch. Q: Why aren't there Texas Longhorn Christmas Ornaments?
I mean...what is more Texas than to have a Longhorn Ornament for Christmas? I thought of one thing..but I'm not sure if that is the reason...if you put berries or round ornaments on the tips of the horns...it reminds me of something...if you look hard enough...what do you see??? i'm talking about the actual longhorn logo itself..not just the colors or anything like that...there could be a reason why...it looks too similar to something...womanly...if you will... I'm not..I was looking for College football ornaments andI just didn't see the ones for Texas... that is..I was looking for ornaments this last December

A: I have several Orange and White Christmas ornaments. I bought them at local gift, card, and accessories shop. I believe that they are of the Hallmark brand. You should just look around in similar stores for this itme, you will run across some sooner than later. Hookem Horns

Q: Handmade Christmas ornaments?
I need an idea for an easy Christmas ornament I can make with my child and her class. I need something simple that a seven year old can do with ease-something without a million little pieces to glue on. Anyone have any suggestions on a simple ornament to create that is age appropriate? :)

A: I used to do those all the time in my class, here's 1 or 2 that I remember. One of them is to find a coloring pattern for a wreath, make copies, glue it on green construction paper. Have the kids paint (or color if it's easier) the wreath and when you cut out the middle put a picture of the child in there. You could do that for about any Christmas shape. Here's a site with a lot of pattern http://www.first-school.ws/theme/cp_christmas/patterns.htm Another one is to take a white or light blue pipe cleaner and cut it into 3 parts (you might need 2 pipe cleaners for it to be long enough). twist the pipe cleaners in the middle so you have 6 ends and spread them out. Have the kids put pony beads on the pipe cleaners and twist the very end of each pipe cleaner so the beads don't fall off. Then you have a snowflake. (You can attach ribbon on the top of each one to hang it) Here's some other ideas: http://jas.familyfun.go.com/arts-and-crafts?page=CraftDisplay&craftid=11155 http://familyfun.go.com/arts-and-crafts/season/specialfeature/christmas-ornaments-ms/

Q: Home-made Christmas Ornaments... ???
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make home-made Christmas ornaments? I love beads, glitter and anything that sparkles and shines... This is my first year in my new house and I thought it would be cute to make many of the Christmas ornaments, but I'm not very arts-n-crafty so I'm not sure where to start....

A: buy some round beads tip them in glue and role them in glitter then string them on string i think that is a cute idea. or make sugar cookies with christmas stencils then you hang them and see how pretty they look you can eat them.
