I'd love to hear from everyone..
Halloween is not a holliday i celebrate...it doenst mean anything to me or my family...thx
A: We have a green tree, that is fake. With a new puppy in the house this year, I can't imagine even bothering with a real one, lol. I decorate our tree the same way my mom used to do ours. Lots of ball ornaments, around the entire tree (you can see nearly all of it, due to it being next to the staircase), a handful of store - bought ornaments, garland and colored lights. This, topped with an angel in remembrance of our mother. Last year, my fiance, brother and I made tons of homemade ornaments that we will be re-using this year as well. I always loved a colorful tree as a kid, and know that my brother does as well, so we try to use a wide variety of things! =]
Q: have you decided how you are decorating your christmas tree?
like what color or colors My hubby wants me to do ours in purple and some other color but i haven't decided yet what about you..is there any links with picture of decorated trees on them
A: For about the last 5 years I have had a white tree with clear lights decorated gold and red,but I think this year i'm going to buy a green tree with multi color lights and decorate with all colors.I think my kids with like it.
Q: Ideas for a carpenter/construction themed christmas tree?
The residential construction company I work for is sponsoring a tree in a christmas tree decorating contest. I have to decorate a tree in carpenter and construction theme. Looking for creative ideas. Thanks in advance.
A: Go to a toy store and buy miniature back hoes, haulers, graders. trucks, and other pieces of 'heavy' equipment. If you have a craft shop near by, you might find these items in wood. Then buy small hammers, levels, saws. framing squares, etc. Use these as your ornaments along with a few well placed miniature hay bales.
Buy a large piece of flannel to use as the tree skirt and use a similar wide plaid ribbon as garland well tucked into the tree branches for added depth. Make small bows out of one of the primary colors in the flannel & ribbon (red?) and hang them in the places you need to fill in. Use wide ribbon in the same plaid to make the topper for the tree. Make two large bows and place one on each side of the tree then fan them out for an attention grabbing topper.
Don't skimp on lights and if they are wrapped around the branches the tree will have that fairy tale quality. Use minature white lights so that every 'ornament' is highlighted. Hang the items in a loose triangle. One on the tip of a branch, one a littl further in and the last one well into the branches. This adds interest and deepth to the tree as well. The triangles can overlap.
I used to work for an interior plant company and we spent months decorating trees. The link below has good suggestions for the lights, etc;

Sounds like a fun project. Hope you win the contest! :)
Q: What the "in thing" this year on decorating a christmas tree.?
Last year it was all silver, year before it was all gold.
A: I went with a blue and silver theme this year, I've also seen the purple and silver theme alot
Q: How much care, effort and time do you put into decorating your Christmas tree?
Do you have a special approach? Are you extremely precise (re: anal) about how the ornaments are hung? Or do you just throw caution to the wind and let the ornaments hang where they may?
A: God is going to get you for this question.
Ok I admit it....I'm anal! lol Alright...I admitted it to the world!!
My dad is very much the artist. He taught me how to have an eye for art. He taught me how to have an eye for photography. He taught me about symmetry and he taught me how to decorate a Christmas tree. *sticks tongue out*
So decorating a tree is a very precise art in my house. I literally place (not put.....but place--how anal is that??? lol) an ornament on a limb and then step back to see how it looks. If it's wrong...... well it's removed. I actually have my ornaments divided into "tiers." (You're dying laughing right now aren't you? I sense it.... I sooooo sense it.) I have those ornaments that go on the bottom of the tree......those that go in the middle... and those that are small and delicate and go on the small thin limbs at the top. I also have the heavy large ornaments that must go "inside the tree" where the larger limbs are that can hold them. Ok needless to say...... my children hate me. They used to want to decorate the tree when they were young and I was that horrid person that I so hate that would say..... "Oh no, honey..... you should put that here!" and then remove her ornament and place it elsewhere. I soon realized that I was totally and completely alienating my family. (Ok...... at last I recognize my horrid faults...lol) so now we get TWO trees. One that the girls decorate however they want..... and one for mom to make into her work of art. Life at my house during Christmas time has been much better since we came up with this plan. lol
Q: What colours are you decorating your Christmas tree this year?
Im going for black and white baubles with silver and black tinsel...
what look are you going for this year?
A: My tree is a fiber optic tree about 5' high. I have sea shells ornaments coated with white glitter and a starfish on top.

A: putting on ordonmants!!! ;-] it always feels like christmas then
Q: Christmas Toppers-What kind(s) of toppers does your family use to complete your Christmas tree?
What kind of topper does your family use to finish off your Christmas tree decorating, this year my family is using a cross.
A: We host exchange students. Our first student's parents sent us this beautiful star from Royal Copenhagen. We've used it as our tree topper ever since! It's very unique and unusual. We've developed the tradition that our exchange students place the star. This year will be our 14th!
Q: Jewels and Gems-Who knows someone that had their Christmas tree decorated using real Jewels and Gems?
Does your family ever use real jewels to decorate your Christmas tree that people think are fake quarter machine toys,I think Christmas trees would look very beautiful if people started decorating them with jewels and Gems.
A: I thought everyone did that....
Q: what started the christmas tree decorating tradition?
A: It started in Germany where at first the put candles on it, red apples and silver or gold painted nuts and it evolved from there.
Q: How will you decorate your Christmas tree this year?
I just got me a white Christmas tree, and now I'm wondering how to decorate it. At first thought, maybe blue and white. Blue lights and blue and white ornaments and blue ribbon. But I don't know. So, how are you guys decorating your tree this year? Add pictures if you've already done it!! I can't wait for Christmas this year!
A: Very good question...
I am doing three trees this year...two real trees, one in the den and one in the living room, and one "fake" tree, on a table.
I know they will all have white twinkle lights, but I kinda want to do something different, maybe colored lights on one or blinking lights instead of always solid.
I really want to get some new garland beads in red and maybe gold or silver and string those along the branches of one of the real trees.
I think I am definitely going to splurge this year and buy all new glass ball ornaments for one tree, gold, silver, red, etcetera.
Let's just say I am going to go all out yet again this year, bigger and better with every year. The bad economy is NOT going to spoil my Christmas spirit!!
Q: How will you be decorating your Christmas tree?
A: My tree is going to be decorated with the old world glass ornaments with white lights. I have bought white wired ribbon to us as the garland and a bow to match for the tree topper.
Q: Which brand empty beer cans would be best for decorating a Christmas tree?
A: Bud Light, and chicken wing bones also add a lovely touch :)
Q: what country is credited with starting the christmas tree decorating tradition as we know it?
A: Germany
Q: Christmas Trees-How did the tradition & custom of decorating Christmas trees start & where did it come from?
Does anyone know when did the custom of decorating trees begin and what does decorating trees remind us of and symbolize?
A: The tradition of the Christmas Tree started in Europe and is first recorded in the 16th century, well into the Christian era. There is no evidence at all of any connection to paganism.
The first Christmas trees were put up on Christmas Eve and were decorated with fruit and nuts (now replaced by glass baubles and candy). Christmas Eve used to be counted as the Feast of Adam and Eve. The connection is obvious - the Christmas tree represents the tree in the Garden of Eden.
The birth of Christ, the second Adam, transforms the tree from a symbol of our fall to a symbol of our redemption. Hence the candles, later lights, for Christ, the light of the world.
