Q: where can i rent christmas tree and decorations in manila philippines?

A: If you are looking for xmas tree as high as 20 meters that you find in big malls like SM and Robinsons during Christmas season, then I would suggest you ask the administrator of these malls where they bought or renting it.

Q: Has anyone got their Christmas Tree and Decorations up already ?

A: Not yet, we wait until the 10th December our daughters birthday..(she will be 4 this year) That way she can open her birthday gift's then help mummy to decorate the tree, whilst daddy is on the roof in the cold and rain putting up the final touches !!! We then have the rest of the day to celebrate her special day!! When we arrive home from our day out we can all sit back, relax and admire the Xmas lights extra !!! We do not put out the Christmas cards we receive until 4 days after her birthday, that way only her B/D cards are on show... Enjoy your Christmas...

Q: Christmas tree cake decoration?
I'm baking a christmas tree shaped cake for christmas only a simple one but i dont know what to use for the decorations (e.g. baubles,tinsel...) Any ideas??

A: Start with a green colored frosting to establish the total tree effect. in decorating the cake. Then piped white frosting can be used giving the tree's branches that snowy look. Now caution should be used to keep the cake from looking overly done,...strategically place M&Ms or Skittles to give the branches festive color and get candy sprinkles to dust,..that will give the cake another layer of sparkle. Your option could also be the use of candles, which could make the whole cake glow very much like a real Christmas tree. Good Luck and Happy Holidays :o)

Q: When do you put up Christmas decorations in the USA?
I have heard that you do not put up the Christmas tree till Christmas Eve?? Is that correct?

A: It varies from family to family. Some people start in November and others wait until later in December, but no one would wait until Christmas Eve to put up a Christmas tree. There are lots of other variations, too. Some people celebrate Christmas and open presents on Christmas eve while others wait until Christmas morning. Some families put more emphasis on a Christmas creche than a tree. The US is made up of people from so many different ethnic backgrounds that it's hard to say how any particular family will celebrate the holiday. I can think of only one time that I know of someone putting up a Christmas tree on Christmas eve... it was during WWII and my family had moved north to work in factories for the war effort. There weren't many Christmas trees on the market because the war effort was taking up everyone's time and energy. My uncle didn't find a Christmas tree until Christmas Eve. A seller had one he'd held back and hadn't sold. It was a poor, pitiful thing but we thought it was lovely. We hadn't expected to find one at all.

Q: Did you make the Christmas Tree Decoration?
...out of Construction paper red and green links like a chain that went around the tree??? We sspent hours making them. How about you ?

A: Yeah, me and my sisters would argue over whose chain was better, but they all got on the tree somehow.

Then around 11.30 would you put on your electric blanket and get into a nice hot bed?

A: Michael O*Leary, I tend to go overboard when decorating evrey year. I like to visit lots of stores to see what the new christmas decorating trends are. http://www.christmasdecorationsstores.com

Q: A judge banned a Christmas tree decoration in front of a govt bldg.Do you agree with him?

A: No I don't. It's Christmas for goodness sake and a good majority of Americans celebrate Christmas. Pretty soon we'll have to call it a holiday tree so as not to offend those who don't use trees for their holiday celebration.

Q: Where did we get the tradition of the Christmas tree?
....at christmas. what does it really symbolize aside from incurring expenses for the tree and the decorations not to mention the gifts you put under the tree.............?

A: The Christmas tree is often explained as a Christianization of the ancient pagan idea that the evergreen tree represents a celebration of the renewal of life. The phrase "Christmas tree" is first recorded in 1835 and represents the importation of a tradition from Germany, where such trees became popular in the late 18th century.[28] Christmas trees may be decorated with lights and ornaments. Since the 19th century, the poinsettia has been associated with Christmas. Other popular holiday plants include holly, mistletoe, red amaryllis, and Christmas cactus. Along with a Christmas Tree, the interior of a home may be decorated with garlands and evergreen foliage, particularly holly and mistletoe. In Australia, North and South America, and to a lesser extent Europe, it is traditional to decorate the outside of houses with lights and sometimes with illuminated sleighs, snowmen, and other Christmas figures. Municipalities often sponsor decorations as well. Christmas banners may be hung from street lights and Christmas trees placed in the town square. In the Western world, rolls of brightly-colored paper with secular or religious Christmas motifs are manufactured for the purpose of wrapping gifts. Although Christmas decorations, such as a tree, are considered secular in many parts of the world, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia bans such displays as symbols of Christianity. Some Christians also reject the christmas tree as a Christian symbol, seeing it as an "idol" that distracts a person from the true worship of God.

Q: Christmas Tree?
how did the Christmas tree tradition start? what is the significance of a tree-a dead tree-being displayed prominently in a persons home? and covering it in lights-and decorations--where and why did this tradition start? what does the tree signify?

A: The fir tree has a long association with Christianity, it began in Germany almost 1,000 years ago when St Boniface, who converted the German people to Christianity, was said to have come across a group of pagans worshipping an oak tree. In anger, St Boniface is said to have cut down the oak tree and to his amazement a young fir tree sprung up from the roots of the oak tree. St Boniface took this as a sign of the Christian faith. But it was not until the 16th century that fir trees were brought indoors at Christmas time.

Q: What Is Your Favorite Christmas Tree Decoration And Why?

A: The ones my Naka sent me for Christmas. They are just like my Mama's that I don't have anymore. ♥

Q: When should I put up Christmas decorations?
I have the house all decorated for fall right now, but I'm getting sick of it. The leaves have fallen....the pumpkins are gross...the harvest is over....so it feels ridiculous to have scarecrows and straw and "Happy Harvest" signs up. But I also don't want a bunch of ugly turkeys, pilgrims, and tacky Indian decorations out for Thanksgiving. Is it okay to put out a few Christmas decorations (not the tree of course) and start to get in the season?

A: I always put them up the Friday after Thanksgiving or in and around there. It's better to have them up longer because once Christmas is over, the decorations seem to lose their charm until the next year. If you're really in the Christmas spirit, I'd start small each day this week and then put it all up by the 23rd or whenever you feel like it.

Q: What is your favorite Christmas decoration in your home?(The Christmas tree doesn’t count!)?
Merry Christmas & New Year!

A: I have two favorites. The first is a paper Christmas tree painted by my 4 year old granddaughter in preschool. The second is one of the ugliest, weirdest poinsettia decorations I've ever come across. It is a poinsettia made of tin with arms and legs and stands about 2 feet high. The head is painted red and green, and the arms, legs and body are painted white. In the center of the tin poinsettia flower is a small, plastic human-like face. I found this item up in the clearance attic of a Christmas store in northern Michigan. It had so much dust on it you couldn't see the price tag. (Nobody else wanted it and had been up there for years) When I saw it, it was so hideous looking it made me laugh. So I bought it and prominently display it in my living room. Everyone who sees it for the first time has something to say about it - like: how awful, what were you thinking, what possessed you, is it possessed, who would make such an awful looking thing, etc.

Q: Christmas tree question-what kinds of Christmas trees do you love and why do you love them so much?
I love green and pink trees with colorful decorations and stuff, I love big Christmas trees with lots and lots and lots of decorations, I love decorating the family Christmas tree every year.

A: I love a traditional green tree...strung with clear lights...clear lights make a tree sparkle so much...it just feels like Christmas time to me that way :D
