Q: Prelit Christmas trees: More trouble than they're worth?
I bought a prelit tree last year and had to throw it out this year! Two days before Christmas, over 20 of the bulbs burnt out and I couldn't find enough replacements. Just wondering if anybody else had this problem. I bought a new tree (not prelit) on the 26th, for next year. Maybe I just got a bad tree. I'm sure it was more than just one bulb, because 20 bulbs turned black. Problem is, it doesn't take the standard tree bulbs and they didn't provide enough replacements. Go figure.

A: Apparently On the pre-lit trees you have to get a good one, the cheap ones fall apart after one use.

Q: how can I fix my prelit Christmas Trees lights....?
we have a 12 ft tree here at my work that I put up every year. Last year when I put it up half of the lights didn't work- I tried to find any broken ones but ran out of time and ended up just putting on extra strings of lights on the dead branches. I want to fix it this year without having to resort to the extra bulk of string lights- how can I find the cause of the problem an fix it?!

A: Very good question. I had this same problem a few years ago. The first time I did what you did. After the next year I got so angry with the lights that I cut them off the tree and now I just put lights on it. What I should have done was go out and buy a bulb tester(you can get one at Target, wal-mart, or any Drug store) this will take a little time but you are sure to find the bad bulb. Hope it is the first one you test!!

Q: PreLit Christmas Trees HELP!?
Ok I was thinking of buying one of these. But I have one question....what happens if one of the little lights goes out? Is the whole tree ruined or can you replace them? Thanks for any help!

A: I just got my own pre lit tree. Replacement bulbs are included with the tree, and there are three perfectly placed strings of lights already on the one I have, and I just finished putting it up and it saved ALOT of time not having to string and wire the lights. I just untwisted one of the lights, however, and the entire string DID in fact go out. Of course, they're all brand new lights, so hopefully they'll last awhile.

Q: I have a prelit Christmas tree from Walmart and Im having some trouble with the lights.??
The tree comes in three parts....bottom, middle and top. The bottom part is lit..but we are having problems with the middle and top liting. What could be causing this problem? The lights are all plugged in. Just letting you know, this tree is about 3 years old, so I dont think I can return it.

A: I am presuming that you can plug each strand into each other. If so, the bottom part is fine. Check for fuses in the plug of the middle section. It is in the male plug. They may need replacing. Otherwise, you could have a burnt bulb. and will need to troubleshoot the bulb. If your bulbs have 3 wires, then that would mean that you could have a problem with a bulb (and not the fuse) If you can plug the top in by itself and it lights up, then the problem is likely a fuse or bulb in the middle strand.

Q: My prelit Christmas tree has a fuse on the main cord. It keeps burning out. Any ideas why?

A: That's a indication there are too many strings of lights fed from that plug. Prelit meaning that it already had the lights installed so I have to ask if you added anymore strings of lights? How old is it? If you didn't modify it in any way and it's a new tree, I think you should take it back to the store. If not, try taking one string of lights and run a separate extension cord to it and see if the fuse holds out on the main plug. Hope this helps

Q: Prelit Pencil Christmas Tree??? Where to find a small pencil tree... ?
This year we are living in an apartment and I am looking for a slender tree that is prelit. I can't find one anywhere that is slim enough. The bottom of the tree needs to be no wider than 36 inches. Most that say they are slim are atleast 50 inches which is too big for the space that I have. I really don't have another place to put one either. Any help will be appreciated! Thanks so much!

A: Try your local florist. Some of them carry artifical Christmas trees of all kinds.

Q: My prelit christmas tree has some lights that won't light, what do I do to fix this?

A: get new bulbs duhh!
