A: Yes, I would say so. Just to make things a lot simpler and easier for you. And also so that the outcome of things would look less 'thrown together' so to say.

i am digitally challenged
i just want to print out pics from my digital camera, with red eye removal and stuff like that, then glue them into a traditional scrap book and take it from there

A: I'd go with traditional scrapbooking, even though its time-consuming, it is way more fun. Digital scrapbooking would just not be the same.
Some things to start out with is:
An album size of your choice.
Adhesives to stick photos on the page
A Craft knife
A Picture Cropper
Embellishments
Paper
Stay away from Acid stuff
Stickers
Anything that will make this page pop!

I have heard of some people who do digital and paper scrapbooking together. How do you combine the two??

A: I would imagine the pictures would be printed all at once and decorated as you would in paper scrapbooking. This one's a new one. I've heard of one or the other being done, but that's my take on it. Personally, I like the old way because with the digital it seems impersonal and the work's basically off the computer so you don't really create it as you would by hand with papers, stickers, etc. Good luck and I hope this made some sort of sense to you.
Q: Digital Scrapbooking...How to set up layout in Photoshop Elements and upload to print at Costco?
I am new to digi scrapping, but would like to try printing out my 12x12 projects. I hear Costco is good. Any tips or step-by-step instructions on how to set this up? What do I basically need to do to have a nice turn out? Help...
A: set up a new file with dimensions of the finished page if you're okay with a border (for full bleed to all edges you need to do a page larger than the finished product and trim it down). depending on the hoped for quality and what the original photos you're using are sized to, you may want to try different dpi (dots per inch, the higher the dpi, the higher the quality).
use the various elements tools such as text, color fill (paint bucket), layering. to copy in other photos - open the digital photo, select all, copy, and then paste in the new file.
a file with multiple layers and such will probably be saved as a photoshop document (.psd) which you can still go back in and edit easily. to take to costco you need to save as a jpeg (.jpg).

A: Here's the thing...what I love about scrapbooking is the community of getting together with friends and the therapy of cutting and pasting and creating. I spend enough time in front of the computer. And paper is timeless and you can touch it and even look at it by candelight if the power goes out. More efficient...I'm sure digital. But memories aren't necessarily supposed to be efficient. Whatever you decide though, do it either way because it's your story and you should pass it on... I won't judge. :)

They also have free templates and more to use with your software. I love it. It really saves time and is very easy to use. They have step by step instruction right in the software. A: Basically, Digital Scrapbooking is just another form of capturing & preserving your memories. You use a graphics or photo editing program to design your pages.
