Q: Does anyone know if I can make my own scrapbook paper with the cricut expression machine?
A: Not sure what you mean... the cricut expression cuts paper to desired shapes you can use in your scrapbook, but cannot "manufacture" paper. You have to buy the paper you put in it. However, you could use the cricut markers to create designs on blank white or solid colored paper
Q: I am looking for scrapbook paper with french fries on it. Can anyone recommend where I might find some?
I searched for it and came up with one website.(scrapbookthis.com) But it has been discontinued there.
A: OKAY I found it here is the web link for it
can I have 10 points
please it took me like 3 hours
Q: What are the oddest things you have used scrapbook paper on?
A: I don't really do scrapbooking, but the paper is a lot of fun, with all the pictures. I found some at a yard sale, and covered it with clear contact paper to make placemats, matching coasters, and matching napkin holder.
I also used some when the Christmas wrap didn't quite cover the box of the gift I was wrapping, so I glued scrapbook paper to cover the gap.
My grandson folds them into wonderful origami shapes.
Q: What kind of papers are scrapbook papers?
A regular 11 x 8.5 white printing paper is thinner than scrapbook papers. I want to buy a 11 x 8.5 white papers but I want it to feel as thick as scrapbook papers (though scrapbook papers aren't that thick, it's still thicker than a regular white paper). Do you know any brand of papers I should buy that is a bit thicker than regular white printing papers? I feel like making my own scrapbook papers but the regular white printing papers are a bit thin. Thanks for your help!
A: Scrapbooking paper can be made of diffrent types of cardstock which is fairly thick (like a greeting card) or specialty papers. Try going to an art store and explaining what you want; at my store we sold a lot of different grades of paper, as well as large specialty papers you could cut down.
Q: Where can I find a company to mass produce the scrapbook papers I have designed?
I have a home business, based primarily on scrapbooking. I would like to start offering my own scrapbook supplies that I have designed myself. I have several items in mind, but need to start finding businesses to physically manufacture them. I am beginning with basic paper (cardstock), stickers, and die-cuts. Does anyone know of any businesses willing and ready to mass produce these items? I don't know how to find what I am looking for.
Someone answered that I might just go to a print shop and have them make what I want. However, that is not what I am after. I have a PRODUCT that I need to be MANUFACTURED...MASS PRODUCED. Are there any sources out there I might try? Anyone know of any companies I might contact?
A: Yes, there are plenty of manufacturers who can do this for you with no problem, but what is the quantity you're talking about? Most manufacturers have set minimums, so unless you are really talking about a large volume, it may not be that easy or cost effective.
I have experience in purchasing foreign made goods from overseas as I travel to Asia numerous times and I have seen companies who make paper products fairly cheap over there, never really investigated because I am not in that line of business.

Q: Do you design scrapbook paper, elements, etc?
How did you get started? Do you have a design degree? Do you work for a company or design and sell on your own?
Just curious how one gets started...I love digital scrapbooking and have designed my own papers, etc.
A: You do not need a design degree. However, just because you have designed your own papers doesn't mean you'll be able to make a dime selling digital scrapbook kits unless you are an extraordinary designer. You must have an outstanding sense of design. You also must have intimate knowledge of how to use your graphics program. I'm presuming you're using Photoshop.
Selling digital scrapbook elements and papers is extremely competitive. Due to the recession and the huge numbers of people who are trying sell their digital scrapbook designs, prices for kits has dropped.
Many digital scrapbook kit designers got started by making free digital scrapbook kits that they gave away on their blog or Website. Some got started because they were a creative team member for a digital scrapbook store, and they made a few digital designs to give away, and then they were eventually promoted to a designer.
There are so many unbelievably talented digital scrapbook kit designers selling their work that I would think very carefully before I entered the fray.

Q: Does the JoAnn's on East Walpole, MA have a good selection of scrapbook paper?
Thanks!
A: Since you know of them, why don't you check them out? Or at least call them?
Q: How do you make scrapbook-paper out of scredded paper-they sometimes put leaves and etc. into the paper also.?
arts and craft
A: Shred what ever paper you have that you want to recycle (nothing glossy). Put it in an old blender with lots of water...it will make a thin paste of fibers. Pour it in a bucket with more water. using a screen stretched over a wood frame...dip into the water and lift the fibers on the screen. Use a sponge to get most of the water out and place your leaves, string yarn glitter, etc. into the pulp fibers. Press this between a section of newspaper to get the remaining water out. carefully peal the paper and place it some where to dry...it will curl..be ready to iron it flat.
and you have homemade paper. Oh yeah..you can buy a mix that will make the paper acid free if you want it in a scrapbook!
have fun!!

Q: My sister is trying to find Boston Red Sox scrapbook paper?

Q: Organizing Scrapbook Paper?
OK, you craft-aholics... what's the best way to organize scrapbook paper? By color? By type (plaid/floral/season/etc.)? My "collection" is growing and I'm trying to figure out what the best way is to get myself organized. Input appreciated!! Thanks...
A: I'VE PURCHASED A PAPER ORGANIZER AT MICHAEL'S CRAFT (I'M SURE THAT ALL CRAFT STORES CARRY THEM). SINCE PAPER COLOR SEEMS TO BE SECONDARY, I HAVE THEN ORGANIZED MY PAPERS BY "TYPE" AND THIS SYSTEM HAS BEEN WORKING WELL FOR ME FOR THE PAST 6 MONTHS.
HAPPY CRAFTING!! BARBARA

Q: I am a Scrapbook and Paper Craft Artist. How Do I market my services?
I also do freelance Home Organization and Home Staging Projects.
I want to market my services, as I am terribly passionate and have been told I am talented. I feel confident in myself and my business...but don't really know:A)what to call myself, and B)how to market my services...
I greatly appreciate any advice...Thanks
A: You have two separate things going, so you have to be very careful not to dilute your brand. You may want to devote half of your time to each, until one starts to make more money than the other. Then you can see how you would have to divide your time.
I make handmade paper and use it to make stationery and also cast objects, and it's not a good seller. Most "crafty" things are not, because they're fun to do, but people wouldn't own any except what they do for themselves. BUT people might pay you money to teach it. For marketing, you can launch a website and also go around to craft stores and your local adult ed to offer classes.
Pick a name that tells people right away what they will be getting. Don't be too cutesy because a lot of your customers will be men.
For the organization and staging, you may first have to convince people they want it. Give away some services and then get testimonials on how much time and money it saves them. Do your research. Meet with realtors (pay them for their time or offer them a freebie) and ask if staging makes a difference. Write your materials based on what they tell you.
You could join the local chamber of commerce and other business organizations in your town. The members always try to do business with the people they're having breakfast with. Here is how to handle your local newspaper: Write an article talking about yourself in the third person, as if it's written by a reporter. Send it to the business editor of your local newspaper. Guaranteed they will call to sell you some ads, but make sure that an article about you is part of the package. It's ethical. You are news!
A nice website is an important part of the package. For your crafts, you can start with a freebie site and then upgrade to paid when the money starts coming in. But for your service business, it's important to be ad-free right away. I only pay $7.00 a month for up to 5 different websites, plus $9.00 a year for each dot com name.
Good luck and have fun. Being self employed is the BEST!
